Integrated Convoy Protection (ICP), a South African defence mobility company, is increasing its presence in Africa’s security manufacturing arena with the introduction of two new vehicle platforms: the HISN and STRATON lines.

The new versions will be shown at the Securex exposition in Midrand, underlining ICP’s ambition for locally developed, export-ready security vehicles tailored to African operational circumstances.

The HISN Tactical Response Vehicle is a multi-purpose armoured personnel platform intended for fast deployment, internal security tasks, and infrastructure protection, Defenseweb reports.

Its modular all-steel armored construction allows it to be adapted for troop transport, medical evacuation, command operations, or observation missions.

According to ICP, the concept addresses a long-standing gap in African security logistics: the requirement for rugged, high-capacity armoured mobility that can be maintained in distant or resource-limited situations.

The HISN series includes 10-seater, single-cab, and double-cab models, allowing operators to standardise fleets across diverse mission profiles while keeping maintenance and operating expenses under control.

“Where conventional armoured bakkies operate near their maximum load limits, the STRATON is built on a 6.5-ton commercial truck platform with a fully armoured steel structure, delivering superior protection, durability, and reliability.

It is supported by a commercial service network across South Africa and the broader continent.

Notably, the STRATON Sentinel can also be supplied as a civilian vehicle for commercial, corporate, and government clients,” ICP said.

Along with it, ICP released the STRATON Sentinel, a lightweight security platform designed for private security organizations, infrastructure protection teams, and commercial convoy operations.

The Sentinel is built on a 6.5-ton truck chassis and features a completely armored steel cabin. It prioritizes mobility, flexible payload integration, and durability.

Unlike traditional armored trucks, which frequently run at structural limitations, the STRATON is intended for long-term load performance and easy service via commercial support networks in South Africa and other African markets.

It can also be customized for government, business, or civilian security purposes.

ICP CEO Nadine Rynners hailed the new platforms as part of a larger push toward “African mobility solutions built to compete globally,” citing increased demand for flexible security vehicles throughout the continent.

“We are not simply building vehicles — we are delivering African mobility solutions engineered to compete globally. The HISN and STRATON represent a new chapter for ICP and reflect our commitment to innovation and the future of security mobility on the continent,” said Nadine Rynners, CEO of Integrated Convoy Protection.

The business will also present its REVA LSV K9 unit during the show, demonstrating its expansion beyond traditional military manufacture into commercial and private security industries.

ICP’s manufacturing heritage comprises over 2,000 REVA systems made in South Africa, as well as additional production globally, with deployments in several African and Middle Eastern regions. The firm is rapidly establishing itself as a Pan-African defense manufacturing brand, emphasizing cost, versatility, and production capacity inside the continent.
