A new ultra-luxury, covertly armoured Mercedes-Benz Sprinter concept has been unveiled by vehicle armouring expert SVI Engineering. It is intended to serve as what it refers to as an “armoured private jet on wheels.”

The car debuted at the Gallagher Estate Convention Centre’s Securex expo, where it was showcased as the company’s most upscale VIP transportation option to date.

SVI claims that the construction is intended for high-net-worth individuals, heads of state, and close protection units that need both the highest level of security and luxurious accommodations when traveling.

The modification is based on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 517 CDI extended wheelbase variant that has been collapsed and rebuilt with a unique B6 armouring package.

This comprises factory-shaped ballistic glass, lightweight composite armour materials, and reinforced steel plate, Defenceweb reports

The system is designed to withstand high-calibre rifle fire, including 7.62×51 mm bullets often found in AK-47, R1, and R5 systems.

The arrangement isolates the driver and close protection officer from the rear passenger compartment by a reinforced bulkhead, bolstering the vehicle’s dual-purpose security architecture.

The increased wheelbase enables a much larger back compartment, which SVI refers to as a completely customized luxury lounge.

Inside, the emphasis is squarely on manufacturing accuracy and tailored integration.

The back compartment has reclining and massaging executive chairs, a big retractable entertainment screen, integrated refrigerated units, a small kitchen module, and an enclosed restroom.

The inside may be outfitted with either quality carpeting or hardwood-style flooring, depending on the client’s preferences. Independent temperature control and considerable acoustic insulation improve separation from the outside world.

Despite the significant armouring and interior revamp, the fundamental powertrain remains intact, with Mercedes-Benz’s 2.0-litre OM654 turbodiesel engine delivering 125 kW and 400 Nm and available with either a manual or automatic transmission.
