ISN Medical, a Nigeria-based healthcare technology business, is looking at chances to manufacture medical items locally as it grows its footprint across Africa, which might enhance regional healthcare supply chains and lessen reliance on imported medical equipment.

The firm claims it is preparing for a new phase of expansion focused on local production, technical capacity development, and increased access to healthcare technology throughout the continent.

According to Managing Director and CEO Felix Ofungwu, Africa’s healthcare sector has unique obstacles, especially in nations where patients mostly pay for their own treatment.

He stated that the high reliance on out-of-pocket expenditure puts pressure on both healthcare providers and customers, driving up demand for cost-effective medical solutions.

Against this context, ISN Medical views local manufacturing as a way to increase affordability while also establishing a more resilient healthcare environment, as seen on the Punch.

The firm’s expansion strategy goes beyond Nigeria. ISN Medical presently serves consumers in over 20 African nations and employs people in many marketplaces in West and Central Africa.

The firm seeks to strengthen its regional footprint while expanding its healthcare product line.

Life sciences and precision medicine are other important areas of study. ISN Medical is investing in genomic technology and sophisticated laboratory solutions for DNA analysis and illness research.

Industry leaders expect that development in artificial intelligence and genetics will play an increasingly vital role in improving diagnosis, decreasing medical errors, and cutting treatment costs.
