Al-Mansour Automotive, Egypt’s Mansour Group’s car manufacturing and distribution division, has increased its product portfolio by introducing two battery-electric Chevrolet models to the Egyptian market.
Chevrolet’s formal entry into Egypt’s electric vehicle market indicates a growing relationship between Mansour Group and General Motors.
Al-Mansour Automotive, GM’s authorized dealer in Egypt, is introducing the new Chevrolet Captiva EV and Chevrolet Spark EUV models, BillionairesAfrica reports.
The rollout establishes the Mansour Group as a critical execution partner in GM’s electrification strategy for North Africa, with Egypt remaining one of the region’s largest and most industrially significant automotive markets.
According to General Motors, the launch leverages the company’s decades-long manufacturing and commercial presence in Egypt and is in line with the country’s greater push toward cleaner mobility alternatives.
GM hopes to reduce adoption hurdles and speed up consumer acceptance of electric drivetrains in daily transportation by utilizing Al-Mansour Automotive’s well-established dealer and service network.
From a product segmentation perspective, the Spark EUV is targeted at urban commuters and entry-level EV consumers, with a focus on small size, low cost, and easy operation.
In contrast, the Captiva EV offers more passenger room, improved safety features, and greater comfort standards for usage by families and fleets.
Sharon Nishi, chair and managing director of General Motors Egypt & Africa, commented on the launch, saying the project complements GM’s worldwide goals for vehicle safety and emissions reduction while also reacting to changing local demand.
“Our history in Egypt gives us a strong foundation to introduce electric vehicles that are practical, reliable, and suited to everyday life,” Nishis stated.

To promote long-term ownership and operating reliability, both models come with substantial aftersales coverage, including an eight-year or 160,000-kilometer battery guarantee, a five-year or 150,000-kilometer vehicle warranty, and three years of roadside assistance.
Al-Mansour Automotive
Al-Mansour Automotive is known to manufacture automobiles in Egypt through joint ventures, most notably with SAIC (MG) and earlier with GM.
It assembles cars locally and has touted its aspirations for eco-friendly and electric models, going beyond distribution to actual production.
To increase local assembly and manufacture, they are constructing a sizable new facility for MG in Egypt, beginning with the MG5 and progressing to SUVs and EVs.
Al-Mansour Automotive stated that their worldwide service network and 24-hour customer support platform are intended to answer issues about EV maintenance, battery life, and service readiness.
According to Ankush Arora, CEO of Al-Mansour Automotive, the introduction demonstrates rising trust in Egypt’s ability to adopt innovative vehicle technologies.
He noted that electric vehicles are a natural evolution for the local automotive sector as infrastructure, regulatory backing, and consumer awareness grow.
