    The company, headquartered in Rockville, Maryland, is enhancing process recommendations, cost accuracy, and sourcing speed. These improvements deepen the platform’s usefulness for both industrial buyers and its network of supplier partners.

    Integrated AI intelligence drives manufacturing decisions

    Xometry’s update centres on deploying an integrated intelligence layer, moving beyond isolated AI models. This unified system continuously learns and refines its understanding of manufacturing processes, making complex engineering inputs into manufacturing decisions much faster.

    Vaidy Raghavan, Xometry’s Chief Technology Officer, explained this shift. “Across the millions of parts quoted through Xometry, our AI is constantly learning,” he stated, highlighting the platform’s evolving intelligence.

    He added that these new models form an “intelligence layer that gets sharper every time a part moves through it.” This, Raghavan noted, is “what makes Xometry the digital infrastructure for custom manufacturing.” The upgrade leverages Xometry’s proprietary data across five critical dimensions: geometry, manufacturability, pricing, supplier capability, and production outcomes.

    Smarter process recommendations and sharper pricing

    The latest AI models introduce substantial improvements for both manufacturers seeking parts and those supplying services. These advancements aim to streamline operations and enhance decision-making across the platform.

    Context-aware process recommendations

    Xometry’s upgraded context-aware AI process recommender now analyses a part’s industry application, material choices, and geometry. It can, for instance, recognise that an aerospace component requires tighter tolerances and flight-grade alloys.

    This capability resolves a “cold-start” problem for new customers. They receive accurate manufacturing recommendations even without prior order history, ensuring consistent service quality from the outset.

    Buyers get optimal process suggestions from among 20 supported manufacturing techniques immediately upon part upload. Early feedback shows strong acceptance, with buyers adopting the AI recommendation more than 85% of the time, marking a notable improvement.

    Enhanced custom manufacturing cost prediction

    Xometry’s new generation of high-capacity cost prediction models has evolved how custom jobs are priced. These models calculate costs based on the specific parameters required for each part.

    They consider geometry, material, finish, and whether a component is standalone or part of a larger job. This granular input has led to more accurate pricing, validated through live testing.

    Xometry reports approximately a 15% improvement in CNC cost-prediction accuracy. The models also predict a calibrated cost distribution for every CNC job, allowing Xometry to gauge and signal its confidence level before delivering a quote.

    The company plans to extend these enhanced models to additional processes within its Instant Quoting Engine (IQE). Further plans include incorporating more CNC materials directly into IQE, expanding its capabilities.

    Streamlined sourcing and better supplier matches

    For Xometry’s network of manufacturing partners, these upgrades mean a more efficient and targeted approach to securing work. The platform now offers a refined experience for suppliers.

    New adaptive sourcing models dynamically price well-understood jobs. They use Xometry’s proprietary supplier data layer to accelerate the process, moving quickly on suitable opportunities.

    These models incorporate an upgraded job-partner suitability score. This evaluates each job against a supplier partner’s machine characteristics, including dimensions and sub-process capabilities.

    The score also factors in historical quality and on-time shipping records. This leads to a significant improvement in partner-matching, ensuring optimal alignment between jobs and capabilities.

    Suppliers receive a curated flow of opportunities that align closely with their specific capabilities. Raghavan underscored this, stating: “The data layers are what’s actually deciding how a part gets made, what it costs, and who builds it.”

    Xometry’s journey in industrial digitisation

    Xometry’s latest advancements build on a foundation of continuous innovation in digitising the manufacturing industry. Founded in 2013 by Randolph Altschuler and Laurence Zuriff, the company positioned itself as a leading AI-native marketplace.

    Its strategic acquisition of Thomas, including the Thomasnet industrial sourcing platform, for approximately $300 million in 2021, significantly expanded its reach and data insights. Xometry went public on Nasdaq in 2021 under the ticker XMTR, with shares soaring almost 100% on its first trading day.

    Xometry’s ongoing commitment to AI is evident in several prior announcements. In November 2023, the company partnered with Google Cloud to leverage Vertex AI for faster model deployment.

    December 2023 saw an update to its AI-powered Instant Quoting Engine with a new process recommender for CAD file analysis. More recently, in June 2026, Xometry unveiled AI-powered injection molding enhancements.

    These enhancements expanded its auto-quotable materials catalog and included Design for Manufacturability (DFM) consultations. In January 2026, Xometry also announced platform enhancements targeting aerospace, defence, and medical sectors, including an expanded portfolio of high-performance materials.

    The company achieved CMMC Level 2 certification in early 2025, further bolstering its capabilities in sensitive industrial applications. Xometry’s AI-native marketplace, along with its Thomasnet® industrial sourcing platform and cloud-based services, aims to digitise the manufacturing industry.

    It connects buyers with a global network of partners for services like CNC machining, 3D printing, and injection molding. This broad capability means the platform can support various complex industrial demands, from aerospace components to specialised areas such as ADC manufacturing advancements.

    Future outlook for AI in industrial production

    These developments underscore Xometry’s role in the broader Industry 4.0 movement, where AI is pivotal in boosting efficiency, agility, and informed decision-making within manufacturing processes. AI applications can lead to substantial productivity gains, potentially cutting unexpected downtimes by nearly 50%.

    AI can also reduce operating costs by around 25% through process optimisation and automation. Furthermore, AI-powered inspection systems can achieve up to 90% accuracy in spotting defects, reducing defective items by about 50%.

    The global custom manufacturing market is experiencing robust growth. Projections estimate its value could reach $1,356.9 billion by 2032, expanding at a compound annual growth rate of 4.7%.

    Another estimate places the custom parts on-demand manufacturing market at $4.60 billion in 2024. This market is set to grow to $11.66 billion by 2032, showcasing an 11.2% compound annual growth rate.

    Xometry, with its continuous technological leadership, projects $1.3 billion in revenue by 2029. The company’s June 2026 follow-on equity offering raised $225 million, providing capital for these ongoing technology investments and marketplace expansion.

    Future plans include extending these upgraded AI models to additional processes within its Instant Quoting Engine. Xometry also aims to incorporate more CNC materials directly into the system, further enhancing its platform capabilities.
